The company Belkin reported an immediate recall of its popular line of BoostCharge Pro 10k external wireless fast charging batteries. This is an item widely used for smart watches, which will no longer be sold due to risk of overheating. As explained from the company, this could even cause fires or physical damage to its users.

The recalled product corresponds to the BoostCharge Pro 10KL external batteries, identified with the serial number BPDD005. Said model was manufactured in China and was sold on the market between May 2023 and June 2024 for a price of $100. This item generally includes a white magnetic charger and contains the Belkin branding prominently displayed on the front.
In the announcement, the company explained that the immediate recall of these batteries exceeded 4,000 units in the United States and 62 in Canada. The company emphasized that this drastic decision was taken as a preventive strategy, since the risks are too high.

In the case of the United States, a fire was reported in a house, causing property damage. So far, no injuries were reported.
