The State of New York has announced grants worth $51 million that aim to promote the acquisition of affordable housing. Specifically, these funds are intended to benefit nearly 1,100 households by providing them with financial support. These may be used for home repairs, accessibility modifications, manufactured home replacement, safety improvements, and down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers.
An “Essential” Program for the New York Community
RuthAnne Visnauskas, New York State Housing and Community Renewal commissioner, called this program “essential” to the community. “Expanding access to housing and making homeownership an affordable reality is essential for all New Yorkers,” she said.
